Learn to code your own website with HTML, CSS, and Javascript!

(no experience needed — learn and code in a fun & safe environment! 🥰)

  • After listening to our spotlight of influential women in CS and innovative CS careers, you will discover intersectionality between code, math, science, and art; how code is used in real life applications; the different careers coding can lead to. 🎨

  • After learning to code with empowering peers and student teachers, you will acquire a foundational knowledge of the design process, HTML, CSS, and Javascript, such as how to use HTML tags, CSS properties, and grid features. 👩‍💻

  • After implementing all your new coding superpowers to a personal project, you will have your own website to share to the world. 🌎

  • After each class and its activities, you will have new coding best friends to talk to and code with! 🎉

Class Format

A typical class includes a bonding activity, an exploration to innovative careers and women in CS, a short instructional period (real-time coding), and an application period (hands-on coding). Open the menus to explore what you'll learn with Code & Connect!


How do you code and start a webpage? During these weeks, you will learn the fundamentals of front-end web development from what HTML even is to coding a basic website with your favorite fonts and colors!

Now that you know the fundamentals, you'll put your learning to action by coding an example portfolio website! Prior though, we'll explore the design process, and design our website (UI/UX). We will guide you step-by-step in coding a functional website (replicating your mock-up design)—there are truly no limits in coding!

At this time, we'll be taking our website up a notch by making it ✨ interactive ✨. It'll be super fun to see your text move and animate!

Now that we know how to code a functional website, we're going to get to our final project, where you will code solo or in groups on a topic you care about! Just like this program, this website will be something you'll treasure—possibly your first complete website! Beside sharing at our final ceremony, this website will definitely be on you'll want to share to your friends, family, and the world! 🌎🎉
